Looking for an easy way to get around campus without a car? Check out our commuter programs!
Carpools & Vanpools
If you’re a commuter student or Pitt employee who is tired of fighting traffic, consider using our commuting alternatives. These services will help you save time and money (and the environment)!
If you're riding a bike around campus, be sure to check out our free Bicycle Registration Program which helps identify your bike if it becomes lost or stolen, and will help us better serve you by improving Pitt's bicycle facilities. We also offer bike lockers for a nominal fee. Learn more about bicycling as a healthy, eco-friendly alternative by contacting us.
Buses & Shuttles
No matter where you need to go, chances are, there's a bus or a shuttle that can take you there. In addition to the shuttles operated by the University, students, faculty, and staff also enjoy complimentary access aboard all Port Authority of Allegheny County buses when they present a valid University ID. Visit Buses & Shuttles for routes and schedules.
Buses Home for the Holidays
Need a ride home for a little R&R? The Buses Home for the Holidays program is the way to go. The program operates during the University's three major recesses: Thanksgiving, winter break, and spring break.
If you find yourself off the beaten path after dark, give SafeRider a call! This service provides complimentary transportation during the evening and early morning hours when special nonemergency needs arise for Pitt or Chatham students, faculty, and staff. Contact SafeRider at 412-648-CALL (2255) to set up your ride.
