Neopost honors Pitt’s Panther Post with Best in Class Award for Parcel Lockers Solutions

Each year, Neopost recognizes colleges or universities that demonstrate superior excellence in parcel management through annual Best in Class Awards. A global vendor, Neopost partners with organizations around the world in 29 countries in mail related services, business process automation and customer experience management.

The 2019 awards honored top performance across three parcel management categories:

  • Efficiency in Distribution Technology - Measures the maximum throughput achieved by colleges or universities that are fully leveraging their package management technology.
  • Parcel Turnover Efficiency - Measures adoption of the technology by the students by monitoring how quickly students retrieve their package, thereby freeing up the locker door for another user.
  • Parcel Occupancy Efficiency - The capacity of the entire system and its availability to handle inbound packages at all times, including peak volume and seasonal periods.

Pitt won the Overall Best in Class award, generating the highest total score across these categories, also gaining national accolade visibility in the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS) Magazine.

Award accolades highlighted the University’s launch of Smart Lockers. This innovative smart system allows for fast, easy delivery and pickup of packages within automated, secure lockers. The Panther Post team places student packages in Smart Lockers for delivery and contacts each recipient with an access code to pick up their parcels, providing convenient 24/7 access. The technology-based service was tested through a comprehensive pilot and is now available in multiple housing locations throughout the Pitt campus.
