Pittsburgh Regional Transit
Avoid the aggravation and expense of commuting by car. Ride Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) fare-free with your Panther Card (Pitt ID). PRT provides transportation around Oakland and Pittsburgh 7 days a week, including limited service on holidays.
All University of Pittsburgh students, faculty, and staff may ride all PRT buses, light rails, and inclines within Allegheny County free of charge. Simply tap your valid and current Panther Card to the smart card target located on the PRT vehicle to ride fare-free. Family members and guests must pay the full fare. If you are a current University of Pittsburgh student, faculty, or staff and your Panther Card does not work on PRT, you will be required to pay for that ride. Contact Panther Central with the 4-digit bus number and route number to complete a PRT Refund Request form. Panther Central will review the claim, and, if warranted, refunds will be given in the form of Panther Funds. Refunds may take 5-7 business days. No cash refunds will be issued.
Interactive bus schedules are available online.
Pittsburgh Regional Transit features Room2Ride which helps you estimate how full your bus usually is at scheduled bus stop time points. Room2Ride reflects the average number of riders on each bus route. Room2Ride uses historical data and a color-coded system to show users the likelihood of seat availability. Please note that this is not real-time data. Please visit the TrueTime site for arrival and vehicle capacity information.
