The Office of Fleet Services, a Division of Business Hospitality and Auxiliary Services, has the responsibility for providing safe and well-maintained vehicles for the operational needs of the University. University vehicles include all fleet vehicles owned or leased by the University assigned to various areas/departments. It is the responsibility of the driver and of all passengers in the vehicle to always wear seatbelts. Wearing your seatbelt not only keeps you safe – it is the law. Pennsylvania's seatbelt law requires drivers and passengers to wear a seatbelt at all times whenever operating or inside a vehicle. The University’s vehicle driver policy also indicates that all occupants in a University leased vehicle are to use seat belts or other available occupant restraints and require all occupants to do likewise in accordance with state laws and University policies. The number of passengers shall not exceed the number of seatbelts. Failure to wear your seatbelt is a serious safety violation and failure to do so may be subject to disciplinary action.
